Dr. Jay D. Kim, DMD, MD

Dr. KimDr. Jay D. Kim attended the University of Michigan, Ann Arbor, where he completed his undergraduate studies in biopsychology and cognitive science. He earned his Doctor of Dental Medicine (D.M.D.) degree from the Arizona School of Dentistry & Oral Health, graduating as valedictorian of his class. He subsequently received his Doctor of Medicine (M.D.) degree from Weill Cornell Medical College of Cornell University and completed an internship in general surgery at NewYork-Presbyterian/Weill Cornell Medical Center.

Dr. Kim is an alumnus of the Division of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery within the Department of Surgery at NewYork-Presbyterian/Weill Cornell Medical Center, where he completed a six-year residency in Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery and served as Chief Resident for two years.

During his training, Dr. Kim gained extensive experience in orthognathic and craniofacial surgery, facial trauma and maxillofacial reconstruction, temporomandibular joint (TMJ) surgery, maxillofacial pathology, obstructive sleep apnea surgery, and dentoalveolar surgery, including bone grafting and dental implantology.

Dr. Kim remains actively involved in academic medicine and serves as a faculty attending surgeon and Clinical Professor of Surgery in the Department of Surgery, Division of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery, at NewYork-Presbyterian/Weill Cornell Medical Center and Weill Cornell Medical College. He also holds operating privileges at Weill Cornell Medical Center in New York City. In addition to his academic and hospital appointments, Dr. Kim is a partner surgeon at MONT Oral & Maxillofacial Surgery in Montvale, New Jersey, serving patients throughout the greater New York, New Jersey, and New York City metropolitan area.

Dr. Kim has received numerous awards and honors, including the Pierre Fauchard Academy National Scholarship Award, the NewYork-Presbyterian CARE Act Award, the NewYork-Presbyterian Distinguished Housestaff Award, the American Association of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgeons Implantology Award, and the American Association of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgeons Distinguished Student Award.

He is a member of several leading professional organizations, including the American Association of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgeons, the American College of Surgeons, the American Dental Association, and the American Medical Association.
